One Year Later, Now 11 Locations: Oxford County Digital Navigation Free Tech Help Program Expands to Buckfield
BUCKFIELD, ME—The Zadoc Long Free Library is the latest location to add Digital Navigation tech help services to its regular schedule, bringing the total to 11 available locations in Oxford County since the program started with 7 locations in March 2024. After a trial drop-in session with Digital Navigator Jim Whitman, Library Director Kathy Hladik put tech help on the weekly calendar, saying the Digital Navigation program from Community Concepts Finance Corporation (CCFC) has been a welcome addition to the library.
“I often find myself chatting with people who aren’t sure how to print from emails, or need to find help with rent, find their photos, or set up a telehealth appointment,” Hladik said, “Jim is not only excellent at using technology; he develops a friendly rapport with people right away and explains things well.”
CCFC Digital Navigator, Jim Whitman, considers himself a “gadget guy” and has been doing everything from helping clients set up new laptops, to basics on Microsoft Office, or how to safely shop online and set up video conferencing accounts.
“Even if I don’t have the answer right at that moment, I’ll research it and come back with an answer,” Whitman said. Android, Apple, Mac, PC—Jim is familiar with most hardware and operating system types.
CCFC is now serving the following locations below with its Digital Navigation Program
