An outpouring of gift donations from the community allowed our Family Services Department to brighten the holidays for more than 60 families this month. The L/A Metro Chamber held its annual Stuff the Bus campaign from November 7th to December 14th, collecting hundreds of toys, clothes, and other items to be distributed by local nonprofit organizations, including Community Concepts. The pictures above show just a few of the many toys and items we received! Mayor Carl Sheline of Lewiston also stopped by our table (pictured below) at The Stuff the Bus Business After Hours event held on December 14th.
We were grateful to have had the opportunity to be a nonprofit partner with Stuff the Bus again this year. A special thanks to everyone who made the campaign possible, including The Chamber, WIGYNortheast Charter & TourNortheast Bank, and all community partners and supporters.
The season of giving continued with the Portland Press Herald Toy Fund. Pictured below, Kathy and Danielle with our Family Services team show off the giant red bags filled with toys collected by the fund. These gifts were distributed to local families working with our Maine Families Program.
Rightstart’s Christmas for Kids and Christmas for Teens, in partnership with the Oxford Hills Chamber, also served many families in the Oxford Hills area.
Thank you to everyone who donated gifts and gave time to these programs serving our local communities this holiday season!
