CCI’s Oxford County Prevention Council is celebrating after receiving more than $12,000 in donations for their Annual Diaper Drive! During the Drive, held each year during National Diaper Need Awareness Week, CCI collects diapers, creams, wipes, and monetary donations to support families in Oxford County struggling to afford enough diapers for their children.
The Oxford Casino Hotel & Event Center, celebrating its fifth year supporting the Diaper Drive, presented CCI staff with a generous $11,485 donation during a live donation event with WOXO Country on Monday, September 26th (pictured above). Oxford Federal Credit Union donated not only boxes of diapers, but also $500 to help us meet the diaper needs of families (pictured below). CCI Family Development Coach Darlene Thibeau also stopped by to share how the diaper drives have directly helped families she’s worked with in the past.
Donations made each year during our Diaper Drive make a direct impact on our communities. It can cost a family up to $900 a year to provide enough diapers for their child. According to the National Diaper Bank Network, 1 in 3 families in the US experience diaper need. This can lead to health problems for babies and toddlers, as well as parenting struggles and challenges, including impacting a family’s ability to pay for rent, food, gas, and childcare. The diapers, wipes, creams and other diaper-related items collected during our Drivebare distributed to families all year long by CCI programs and community partners such as food pantries, childcare facilities, and other nonprofit organizations.
If you or someone you know is in need of diapers at any point throughout the year, please contact CCI’s Oxford County Prevention Council at 207-402-1621 or email@example.com to make a request.
