July marked the first anniversary of Gauvreau Place, a multi-story apartment building in Lewiston developed by CCI in partnership with Avesta Housing. Gauvreau Place is named in honor of Paul Gauvreau, a CCI board member and well-known Lewiston attorney and state legislator who served for more than 20 years in the Office of Maine’s Attorney General. Paul passed away unexpectedly in 2020, but had a tremendous impact on our community and our state throughout his life.
Today, more than 80 residents call Gauvreau Place home. The building offers a total of 35 mixed-income apartments for individuals and families with amenities including on-site parking, on-site laundry, and easy walking distance to public transportation.
Earlier this year, Gauvreau Place was one of seven projects awarded the 2022 Notable Project Award by the Maine Real Estate and Development Association (MEREDA). MEREDA shares that each recognized project was “selected in part based upon criteria including: noteworthy and significant project completed in 2022, environmental sustainability, economic impact, energy efficiency, social impact, uniqueness, difficulty of development, and job creation.” Click here to read more and view the complete list of recipients.
